Community Shopping Program
COMMUNITY SHOPPING POLICIES
The Community Shopping Policy at Salem Pregnancy Care Center (SPCC) outlines the guidelines for families with children under two years old to receive supplemental baby supplies. This program is designed as a supportive service and is not intended to cover all needs for a child. Quantities are limited, and item availability is not guaranteed.
Eligibility: The program is open to parents or legal guardians of children from newborn up to 24 months. SPCC does not provide items beyond size 2T clothing or diapers larger than size 6. Clothing is not categorized as gender-neutral; therefore, gender-neutral selections are not an option. Each eligible family may shop for up to two children under two years of age.
Program Structure:
- The Community Shopping Program operates as a pickup-only service. SPCC staff or volunteers will assemble a “care pack” based on item availability and quantity limits. Specific requests for colors or brands are not available, except in cases of health-related needs (e.g., allergies).
- All items are donation-based, and SPCC does not guarantee the availability of any specific item.
- Clients may request a care pack once every 90 days. Pickup requires a scheduled appointment with a two-hour pickup window.
- Appointments must be scheduled with at least two business days’ notice. Rescheduling or canceling must occur by the end of the business day prior to the scheduled pickup.
No-Show Policy: Failure to pick up a care pack within the scheduled window without prior notice will be marked as a “no-call/no-show,” resulting in a 90-day suspension from the program. Three no-call/no-show incidents within a 12-month period will lead to ineligibility for the program.
Zero-Tolerance Policy: SPCC maintains a zero-tolerance policy for disrespectful behavior. Respectful disagreement is acceptable; however, any blatant disrespect—verbal or physical—toward SPCC staff, volunteers, or other clients, including on social media, will result in suspension from the program. SPCC reserves the right to suspend a client’s access to the shopping program at any time to ensure a safe, respectful environment.
Material Items Release: For safety, clients are encouraged to inspect each item carefully upon receipt. While SPCC strives to offer quality items, we cannot guarantee the condition or suitability of any donated items for their intended use.
Eligible families may request a care pack by calling or texting 336.760.3680 or completing an Appointment Request Form.
