Symptoms of Pregnancy

Some common symptoms of pregnancy include:

  • A missed period
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Tender breasts
  • Frequently urinating
  • Tired all the time

Having these symptoms may or may not mean you are pregnant. Make an appointment (with link) with us today to confirm whether or not you are pregnant.

When should I take a pregnancy test?

In a safe and compassionate setting, Salem Pregnancy Care Center will provide you with a free, lab-quality urine pregnancy test. Your results will then be given to you during your visit. Our staff and trained volunteers are here to listen to your fears, concerns, and thoughts about your pregnancy.  While it can be possible to receive accurate results before missing a period, pregnancy tests are most accurate after missing your period.

What are options if I am pregnant?

Once you have a verified pregnancy, you have three options to consider: parenting, adoption or abortion. Receiving the news that you are pregnant can cause a wide range or emotions, so we encourage you to talk to a family member or friend you trust. Our trained staff and volunteers are more than willing to discuss your options with you and anyone you choose to include in your decision-making process. No one should be pressured into making a decision about their pregnancy. We want to provide a safe place for you to make the healthiest choice possible.

Do you prescribe birth control?

Salem Pregnancy does not provide, nor refer, for birth control. If you are seeking information about birth control please talk to your OBGYN. If you don’t have an OBGYN, we will be happy to provide you a list of referrals.

Do you provide Plan B? We do not provide emergency contraception (Plan B, Morning After Pill etc) however we can discuss how it works and the possible side effects of it’s usage.

Do you offer STD/STI testing?

Not at this time, but hope to add these services in the near future.

Do you offer services for men?

We recognize that an unplanned pregnancy can be overwhelming for both the woman and the man. Currently we offer a parenting class once a quarter (check calendar for next available dates) which is open to both the mom and the dad. We have also launched our new Man to Man mentoring group in which male mentors tackle the hard subjects of parenting and being an engaged father. We hope to add more services for men as we continue to grow.
